Cardiac Rehabilitation

Buckner Wellness Center
2299 S. Highway 65 | Marshall, MO 65340
(660) 831-3232

The staff at the Buckner Wellness Center understands how life-changing a cardiac event can be for patients. Our outpatient cardiac rehabilitation program (Phase II) is professionally supervised to help patients recover from a heart attack, heart surgery, angioplasty, cardiac stent or other cardiac event.  Our program is designed to continue the progress a patient has made following their Phase I rehab, which typically takes place in the hopsital.  Our goal is to help patients make the lifestyle changes they need to increase physical fitness, improve health and reduce the risk of future heart problems.

What is included in the program?

Under the supervision of a registered nurse, our program is personalized to the patient's needs and abilities.

The program includes:

a risk factor assessment to review the patient's health history, medications and current lifestyle
monitored exercise
psychological and emotional support
education about diet, exercise and lifestyle changes
communication with the patient's cardiologist and primary care provider

How long does the program last?

The program lasts from 12 to 14 weeks, with exercise sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at scheduled times between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. (sessions last one hour).

Is the program covered by insurance?

Phase II rehab is typically covered by insurance (up to 36 sessions), but plans vary, so we check with the patient's insurance to verify the extent of coverage before their program begins.

Hours:

Monday, Wednesday and Friday . . . 8 a.m. - 11 a.m.  |  12 p.m. - 3 p.m. (closed from 11:00 to noon)
Tuesday, Thursday . . . 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. (by special appointment for Phase II patients)

Community Wellness Exercise Program
