Benefit Summary

Benefit Package

Fitzgibbon Hospital offers eligible employees an excellent benefit package designed to best fit their needs.

Group Health Insurance:  Group Health plan includes Health, Dental, and Life insurance. Benefits are effective the 1st day of the month after your first 60 days. To qualify the employee has to have at least 40 agreed hours per pay period.

Wellness Program:  Employees who participate in our wellness program are offered our group health insurance at a discounted rate.

Vision:  Vision is a voluntary plan that covers exam, glasses, and contact lenses.

Retirement:  A 403 (B) Retirement Plan Hospital Contribution is discretionary upon Fiscal Year Earnings.

Paid Time Off (PTO):  The overall goal of this plan is to allow you flexibility in scheduling your time away from the hospital. You may use PTO days or hours for illness, vacation, holidays, family emergencies, preventative health and dental care, or personal business.

Employees who are regularly scheduled 40 hours or more per pay period are eligible for PTO after three months of employment. PTO is accrued at a rate of .0846 PTO hour per regular hour worked up to a maximum of 80 hours per pay period for the first through fourth years of continuous employment (equates to 10 vacation days, 4 personal days, and 8 holidays. Holidays observed include: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and Two Floating Holidays for employees working 80 hours per pay period.) The PTO accrued will appear on the stub portion of your paycheck.

New Employees will begin earning PTO from the first day they are employed at Fitzgibbon Hospital. However, they must have completed their three-month probationary period before they can start using any PTO. Employees who have not completed one year of continuous employment may use a maximum of 64 hours of accrued PTO.

Sick Leave:  Days missed because of illness are deducted from the PTO account unless the illness is longer than four consecutive work days or 32 hours, with a doctor’s note. In that case, beginning on the fifth day, you will be paid from a separate account called Sick Leave/Short Term Disability, provided you have worked for Fitzgibbon Hospital for one year. Accrual rate is .0346 per hour worked. Maximum accrual is 480 hours.

Employee Discounts:  Cafeteria Discount is 25% on all cafeteria costs. Gift Shop Discount is 10%. Pharmacy discount on over-the-counter drugs.

Direct Deposit, Savings:  Employees are required to have their paycheck deposited directly to a bank of their choice. We also offer a Cafeteria/Flexible Spending Account where Pre-tax dollars are deducted from your paycheck to cover non-covered medical expenses, dependent child care expenses, group insurance, and supplemental life insurance.

Tuition Reimbursement / Scholarship Program:  Employees who have been employed at least one year are eligible to participate in the Tuition Reimbursement Program.

Employee Assistance Program:  Free and confidential counseling and assistance is available to help employees and family with problems relating to work and home.
