Gastroenterologist Dr. Yan Chen to Perform Clinic Consults

Marshall Surgical Associates has expanded its gastroenterology clinic services with the addition of Yan Chen, M.D., who will begin seeing patients alongside Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner Kristi Ott for consultations.

Dr. Chen, a gastroenterological surgeon, will treat patients with complex upper and lower gastrointestinal issues and provide follow-up care for patients who undergo complicated GI endoscopic procedures at Fitzgibbon Hospital. He has been performing colonoscopy and endoscopic procedures at the hospital since February 2025, but recently expanded his services to include treatment consultations.

"I have really enjoyed getting to know the Marshall community and serve them as their gastroenterologist," said Dr. Chen. "These new clinical hours will allow me to provide additional care for conditions that are not currently treated locally."

In addition to general gastroenterology care, Dr. Chen will see patients with liver disease, including hepatitis, cirrhosis and fatty liver disease.
