Fitzgibbon Hospital to Continue Offering Pain Clinic

Fitzgibbon leadership has announced the continuation of pain management services from Wallace Ralston, DNP, CRNA, reversing an earlier announcement that the clinic would be closing.

“We are happy to have reached a solution in that Wally Ralston will continue to serve patients here a couple times a month,” said Angy Littrell, President and CEO of Fitzgibbon Hospital. “He is a very popular provider who has a sizeable following and gives essential pain management care in both a clinic and procedural setting. We know this is a great need for many in our community, and I’m very happy we have reached an agreement for him to continue to see patients here.”

Ralston will continue to see patients within Fitzgibbon Orthopedic and Sports Medicine on the second floor of Fitzgibbon Hospital.  He cares for patients in need of various types of pain relief care. Ralston, who focuses on procedural relief of chronic pain, is committed to Saline County and area patients.

Ralston is highly trained, earning qualifications as both a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and a Doctorate Nurse Practitioner. He completed his Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from UMKC in 2020 and his Doctorate of Nursing Practice from UMKC in 2009. He completed a fellowship in Chronic Pain Management at Texas Christian University in 2018. Ralston also earned his Master of Arts in Biology and Anesthesia in 2004 from UMKC and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Kansas in 1998.

Also involved in academic medicine, Ralston has served as an Associate Professor at UMKC and the Truman School of Nurse Anesthesia since 2014.

Ralston treats a number of painful conditions with both traditional and holistic medicine techniques, including steroid injections and spinal blocks. Other conditions such as chronic migraine and other headaches, SI joint dysfunction, sciatic nerve pain, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) as well as treatment options for Covid-19 Long Haul Syndrome.
