Fitzgibbon a Founding Member in Show-Me High Value Network

Fitzgibbon Hospital has joined 23 other independent Missouri hospitals to form the Show-Me High Value Network, a statewide collaboration designed to strengthen participating hospitals individually while improving health care quality, sustainability and value in the communities they serve.

“Collaborating with other independent Missouri hospitals will strengthen our ability to deliver the best care for communities in our region,” said Angy Littrell, CEO of Fitzgibbon Hospital. “This network will help us ensure access to care close to home while creating a peer group of other hospitals with the same focus: providing affordable, quality healthcare locally.”

The cornerstone of the network is a clinically integrated network, better known as a CIN, designed to expand the value of care. Clinically integrated networks also are the cornerstone of many reimbursement methodologies used by health insurers to incentivize “value over volume.” The network provides a framework for hospitals and providers to collaborate on quality improvement, care coordination, data sharing and value-based care to the benefit of more than 1.8 million Missourians served by hospitals in the network.

Fitzgibbon will engage with network members on committees focused on the quality and value of care. Through this work, participants will benefit from systems that enhance quality and care coordination while reducing administrative burdens for hospitals, doctors and nurses. The committees also will develop a common set of quality measures for care, and lead implementation of a clinical data-sharing platform to support the members’ work with health insurance companies on value-based care arrangements and best practices.

Additionally, the network will establish a committee of operational leaders from different hospitals to share best practices, discuss opportunities and challenges, and identify strategies to improve efficiency across member organizations.

“By focusing on quality, better coordination of care and using data to guide improvements, we can strengthen patient care and build a stronger future for our organization,” Littrell said. “Our goal is to keep improving while making sure quality care remains close to home for generations to come.”
