Experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Joins Fitzgibbon Mental Health Clinic

January 30, 2026

Fitzgibbon Hospital has announced that Sarah Wansing, APMHNP-BC, is now seeing patients at the Fitzgibbon Mental Health Clinic, continuing her commitment to providing comprehensive mental health care to the community.

Wansing brings extensive experience in psychiatric care to her new role. She previously led the Fitzgibbon Hospital Mental Health Unit. Her transition to the outpatient clinic ensures continuity of care for patients seeking mental health services in the region, following the hospital’s financial decision to close its inpatient unit.

As a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, Wansing specializes in treating adults with a wide range of mental health conditions. Her clinical expertise includes assessment, diagnosis, treatment and medication management for patients experiencing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and other psychiatric conditions.

Wansing earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Frontier Nursing University, where she also completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner studies. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Central Methodist University.

She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner for adults across the lifespan. Wansing maintains active licensure in both Missouri and Kansas.

The Fitzgibbon Mental Health Clinic provides outpatient psychiatric services to adults in Saline County and surrounding communities. Patients can schedule appointments by calling the clinic directly.
