Auxiliary Bazaar Promises Family Fun

     For 50 years, the Fitzgibbon Hospital Auxiliary Ambassadors have hosted a Holiday Bazaar to raise funds for Fitzgibbon Hospital. The event has changed in its makeup and its location through the years, but it is always a great time for a good cause! The vendor booths, silent auction and bake sale begin at the Martin Community Center at 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, with the chili supper and children’s activities kicking off at 4 p.m.; all festivities will end at 8 p.m. Proceeds benefit item and equipment wish lists within departments at Fitzgibbon Hospital as well as continuing education and scholarships.

     Because the Holiday Bazaar is on Veterans’ Day this year, all U.S. veterans will eat free. This is the Auxiliary’s way of saying, “Thank you for your service.”

     This year’s Holiday Bazaar will include:

Chili/Soup Supper – Adults, $7, Kids aged 8 and under, $4 — includes a bowl of soup or chili, pimiento cheese sandwich or hot dog, drink and a piece of homemade pie. Tickets are available in The Gift Shop at Fitzgibbon Hospital.

4 Raffles - Operation Relaxation features a recliner, 50” LED TV, one frozen entrée/month for one year and a $100 gift card; Beef – It’s What’s for Dinner includes a side of beef, processing of beef and a 14-cubic-foot freezer; Sip, Savor & Ride in Style features four dinners for four diners, limo ride to one restaurant, gratuities and a wine-tasting experience; Sparkle & Spend includes a $500 Sturhahn Jewlery gift card plus $500 cash. Tickets sell for $20 each. Or mix and match three tickets for $50; these tickets are also available in The Gift Shop at Fitzgibbon Hospital.

50-50 Raffle - Who wouldn’t love a little windfall right before the holidays? The winner takes home half the cash!! Prices for tickets are one ticket for $2, three tickets for $5, tickets for $10 or twenty tickets for $20. Tickets are available in The Gift Shop.

Silent Auction - Fitzgibbon Hospital departments put together fun-filled, themed baskets for the silent auction. Viewing and bidding of the baskets will be in the hospital cafeteria on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 10 and 11, and then will be relocated to the Martin Center in time for the bazaar.

Bake Sale – Fitzgibbon Hospital Auxiliary Ambassadors’ home-baked cakes, pies, cookies, breads and more; Patsy Dehn’s cinnamon rolls and French bread. Another sale of cinnamon rolls and French bread will be held in Café’ Fitz, the hospital’s cafeteria, on Friday, Nov. 18 beginning at 6 a.m. until sold out.

Vendor Booths - Vendors this year will include 3J Wreaths, Ann Sullivan Design Jewelry, Arrow Rock Antiques & Mercantile, Doll Clothes by Nancy Hedgpeth, Fitzgibbon Gift Shop, Poppin’ & A Shakin’ Kettle Corn, Shirley’s Tupperware, Simply Pallets by ML and Three Sisters Boutique.

Children’s Area - FREE cookie decorating, ornament making, face painting, balloon animals and costumed characters. Photos with Santa will be available from 4 to 7 p.m. for $6.
