William Smith, M.D., board-certified OB/GYN, provides care at Marshall Women’s Care, inside the Fitzgibbon Medical Clinic.
Dr. Smith delivered babies and cared for women in the Marshall community as an OB/GYN at Fitzgibbon Hospital and Marshall Women’s Care from 1999 to 2009 before joining a practice in Sedalia, where he worked from 2009 to 2019.
In addition to general care and surgical interventions to treat women’s gynecological health issues, Dr. Smith delivers babies at Fitzgibbon Hospital’s Women’s Center, which was recently re-modeled to reflect the latest in mother-baby care and a family focused birth experience.
Dr. Smith earned his medical degree at the University of South Dakota’s School of Medicine in 1990. He completed his residency at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Columbia in 1994.
Dr. Smith is a United States Air Force Veteran, serving as a 1st Lieutenant at the USAF Hospital at Ellsworth Air Force base in South Dakota, earning an honorable discharge in 1986.
