The Living Center

Activity/Recreational Opportunities

Enjoy a daily morning game of noodle ball, and then wet your whistle. If noodle ball is not your cup of tea, you can exercise with the TLC “Steppers.” Join our residents on Friday and bake a favorite recipe, or create a piece of art with our craft club.  Ladies, enjoy our “Red Hat Club.”  Men, you aren’t left out of the fun. Enjoy the “Rusty Zipper Pub Club.”  Finally, the Marshall community churches provide for the spiritual needs of our residents at TLC.

The Living Center Activity Department assesses, plans and implements activity programs based on each resident’s need and desire. Person-centered exercise offerings within our Special Care Unit, recognizing our veterans with honors and fun trips away from the building are all examples.  Residents may choose to participate in morning and afternoon activities. In addition to daily activities, residents enjoy special weekly and monthly activities, such as Bible study, bingo, and day trips outside the facility (weather permitting).  We also host monthly special musical guests. A popular “guest” among our residents is Elvis.

The Living Center encourages family involvement and provides space for special gatherings with loved ones. The activity department also coordinates with local volunteer programs and encourages community involvement.

The facility is pet-friendly, too! We welcome most domestic pets as long as their owner can produce proof the pets are up to date on all yearly vaccinations and takes responsibility for their needs. In addition to welcoming pet visits, a bird aviary is located in our sun room.
