Fitzgibbon Supporters have Opportunity for Fun at Wine and Whiskey Drop

Supporters of Fitzgibbon Hospital have an opportunity to experience a unique and fun event at the organization’s annual Wine and Whiskey Drop, which will be held from noon until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 18, at The Leaning Side Restaurant and Bar located at 7 N. Lafayette Ave. in downtown Marshall. The Wine and Whiskey Drop is a social event with an opportunity to taste a variety of wine and whiskey offerings for the purpose of purchasing and donating to the Wine and Whiskey Grab held at The Fling gala on April 14.
“We have switched this event to a Saturday to better accommodate attendees’ schedules. We hope this will increase attendance and donations for the Wine and Whiskey Grab for this year’s Fling, which will also help celebrate our 100th Anniversary,” said Andrea Barr, Foundation Director for Fitzgibbon Hospital.
Attendees will receive a free drink as well as appetizers as they also enjoy tasting several of the unique offerings provided by Scott Guthrey, owner of The Leaning Side. Individuals can then choose to order their favorites either to donate to the Wine and Whiskey Grab for the Fling or to keep for their own use. The Wine and Whiskey Grab is a popular and fun event held at The Fling each year that provides attendees with the chance to earn valuable bottles of wine and whiskey in exchange for a fixed price “ticket” chance to grab a concealed bottle.
“We hope everyone can make it out for an afternoon of fun, socializing and support for a great cause,” said Barr.
The Fling Gala is Fitzgibbon Hospital’s primary community fundraising event. This year promises to be an amazing event as the organization also will celebrate its 100th year of improving the health of Saline and surrounding counties. The hospital’s official birthday is April 24. There will be numerous opportunities to hear the life-changing stories of many in our community as well as a chance to tell our own story of Fitzgibbon Hospital’s care and support through the years.
