Look Good…Feel Better (LGFB) is a free, national public service program which is designed to help women cancer patients learn how to cope with the appearance-related side-effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatments by teaching them techniques to help restore their appearance and self-esteem through the use of makeup, wigs, scarves, and other accessories. The program has three guiding principles: It is free to participants and volunteers It is non-medical It is product neutral (volunteers, host facilities, and program participants do not promote any specific cosmetic manufacturer, salon, service or other supplier). LGFB is a joint program offered in partnership with the American Cancer Society (ACS), the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association (CTFA) Foundation, and National Cosmetology Association (NCA). LGFB is offered as a group program, primarily in local hospitals, comprehensive cancer centers, American Cancer Society offices, and other community settings. It may also be offered as a one-on-one consultation that takes place in a salon. There are self-help materials for women who cannot make it to a group or one-on-one program.
