2506 Linden Tree Pkwy Marshall, MO 65340 (660) 886-9676 The primary objective of The Living Center is to promote a quality of life through care and services to the residents, families, and community we serve in a homelike, least restrictive environment as possible. Advocating for a quality of life our elders will be encouraged through a quality focused care delivery system, community support, education, and research collaboration with leaders in the field of gerontology. The outcome of our advocacy will enable our elders to lead a life of maximum independence, freedom of choice, and continued involvement with their community within and without the facility. The Living Center became the areas newest 90 bed Skilled Nursing Facility state licensed and certified skilled nursing facility along with its own special care Alzheimer's unit on November 25, 1997. The center provides a homelike atmosphere to all its residents as well as state of the art health care equipment. The facility adjoins Fitzgibbon Hospital in the event that medical attention is needed immediately. The center also has a skilled nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, Director of Nursing 24 hours per day. There is a Registered Nurse on duty 7 days per week and a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Special Care Unit 5 days per week, 24 hours per day. Our direct caregivers are given extensive training in the procedures necessary to deliver quality care and services. All goals are focused upon delivering a high quality of life. Physicians are encouraged to make visits as deemed necessary by a resident’s condition. Dietary services are under the direction of a registered Dietician with consultations monthly as needed. Daily dietary needs are monitored by the Dietary Services Manager and nursing services. Dietary needs are assessed, planned and implemented to promote adequate nutritional intake. Small refrigerators may be purchased by the resident/family and placed in individual resident rooms if space permits. Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Respiratory Therapy are under the direction of our Rehabilitation Director. Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech screens will be conducted free of charge as needed. The therapist coordinates efforts with the physician and nursing staff to ensure that each resident’s therapy needs are being met. The activity department assesses, plans and implements activity programs based on each resident’s need and/or desire. The activity department coordinates with the volunteer program. The Living Center encourages families to come and have special gatherings with their loved ones. Residents participate in morning and afternoon activities daily, which include arts and crafts, cards, plus much more. The residents participate in special activities weekly. These activities include bible study, bingo, social hour, birthday parties, and walks outside the facility (weather permitting). The facility also has various animals such as dogs, cats, and birds that interact with the residents for a homelike atmosphere. A beauty salon and dry cleaning services are available to the resident at a minimum charge.
