Marshall Family Practice

Marshall Family Practice offers services ranging from newborn check-ups and pediatric care to annual physicals and all aspects of general medicine care. They are located in the Professional Building on the Hospital Campus.

Please call for an appointment, we believe strongly in the value of your time, we will do our best to keep you from waiting longer than necessary when your appointment time arrives. If it is your first time being seen at the Clinic, please arrive 15 minutes early to fill out new-patient paperwork (use this form for Pediatrics) or you may print it from our website and bring it in completed. Also, to aid us in providing all of the services you need, we ask that you bring all medications (including prescriptions and over-the-counter medications) that you are currently taking along with your current insurance information, Driver's License (or other picture ID) and any office visit co-pay that your insurance requires.

Sonal Brizendine, M.D. - Marshall Family Practice, (660) 886-6692

Education & Qualifications:

Dr. Sonal Brizendine received her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies in 2002 after completing undergraduate studies at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. She also completed a Master’s Degree program in Public Health at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C.
Dr. Brizendine completed a geriatric medicine fellowship at the University of South Carolina, where she also completed a residency in Family Medicine. Her experience includes working as Attending Physician, Geriatrics, at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, S.C.
Dr. Brizendine is Board Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Advanced Life Support, American Board of Family Practice, and Advanced Life Support – Obstetrics. She is a member of the American Medical Directors Association, the American Geriatrics Society, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the South Carolina Medical Association.

Brenda Dodds, CNP - Marshall Family Practice, (660) 886-6692

Education & Qualifications:

Ms. Dodds received a Bachelor of Science degree from Graceland College in Lamoni, IA and her Master of Science degree in Nursing from Graceland University in Lamoni, IA.

Ms. Dodds is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is currently providing primary care services in collaboration with Dr. Shari Thompson.

Ms. Dodds is a Family Nurse Practitioner who sees patients and provides general care on a daily basis. She comes to us from Independence, MO where she spends most of her time caring for heart patients.

Education & Qualifications:

Dr. Thompson received her medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, MO. She completed her residency in Family and Community Medicine at the University of Missouri Department of Family and Community Medicine.

Dr. Thompson is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Practice. She is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Missouri Academy of Family Physicians and the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.

Specializes in family medicine, with an interest in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic and acute illnesses for patients of all ages. Dr. Thompson is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Practice.
