Amenities Although we know it will take more than a riveting program on TV or a stuffed animal from the gift shop to make you feel entirely better, we have put together a few niceties to help make your Fitzgibbon stay a little more enjoyable. ATM An ATM machine is located in the Atrium. Mail and Flowers There’s nothing quite like cards and flowers to brighten your hospital stay, and we make it easy for your family and friends to get their wishes to you. Fitzgibbon Hospital staff will personally deliver any mail or flowers to you in your room. Patients in ICU, however, are not permitted to have fresh flowers or plants in their room. If you have mail to send you may give it to one of the staff members who enters your room. Newspapers We know that it’s easy to feel out of touch while you’re in the hospital, but we also make it easy to catch up again. Newspapers are for sale in the vending machines at the hospital entrance. For the price of a paper, a care team member will be happy to get one for you. Notary Public The services of a notary public are available during regular business hours. Your nurse will be happy to make arrangements for you. Telephone For your convenience, we provide you with a bedside phone which allows you to place calls at any time, day or night. Local calls are free and can be accessed by dialing ‘9’ prior to the number. Long distance calls can be placed by dialing ‘0’ for the operator, and they will provide you with assistance using your calling card or placing the call collect. Pay phones are available in the Atrium and at Patient Registration. Your friends and family may call you between the switchboard hours of 8:00 am and 10:00 pm by dialing 660-886-7431 and giving the operator your room number. Pastoral Care The Fitzgibbon Hospital chapel is always available to patients of all denominations. If you desire a pastoral visit, let your nurse know and arrangements can easily be made. |
