Giving Our Babies the Best!

Breastmilk is undoubtedly the best form of nutrition for your baby.  This class is for anyone who has questions about or is planning to breastfeed their baby.  You will receive invaluable information on the benefits of breastfeeding (for baby, mom, and the whole family), how to get off to the best start, and tips for successfully breastfeeding your baby while managing a busy lifestyle.

Please contact Natalie Lavelock at the Women’s Center to make arrangements for the class you would like to attend.   Those  enrolled in the Beautiful Beginnings  class do not need to enroll in an additional breastfeeding class.

Beautiful Beginnings

Pregnancy and childbirth is an exciting time for both the expectant mother and her support person, but this time can also be filled with questions and concerns.  The  best way to answer your questions and alleviate your concerns is through open communication with your care providers and education on what to expect the last few weeks of pregnancy and during labor.

The Beautiful Beginnings class is a comprehensive class geared toward first-time  parents that will discuss what to expect during the last weeks of pregnancy, the process of labor and birth, post-partum period, newborn care and breastfeeding.  Expectant parents will be given the opportunity to learn infant CPR, tour the Women’s  Center, and will be assisted in developing a birthing plan to facilitate communication with their support person and care providers.

2008CHILDBIRTH CLASSES

We encourage you to enroll in class during your 6th or 7th month of pregnancy so that you will have time to      complete the course, talk to your care provider about questions or concerns, and continue planning for the birth of your baby.

The fee for enrollment is $25, which is due on the first night of class.  Included in your enrollment fee will be a book designed for expectant parents that will compliment the topics discussed in class and a light snack during each class.

All classes must have a minimum enrollment of 4 or the class will be canceled or rescheduled.
