Community Cancer Center to begin seeing patients

 

The long anticipated Community Cancer Center is open.

 

The Fitzgibbon Community Cancer Center will begin this week to help patients and families in their fight against cancer. The center will offer Radiation and Chemo Therapy.

Physicians who are recognized among the best cancer physicians in this region will be here to direct each patient’s course of treatment. William Decker, M.D., is the Radiation Oncologist and Mark Tungesvik, M.D., is the Medical Oncologist. Both come from Missouri Cancer Associates and are committed to providing exceptional care as part of the team at the Community Cancer Center. 

 

In addition to physicians, the center is staffed by two nurses who are certified in chemo therapy, two radiation therapists who are specifically trained and registered in radiation therapy, and supporting office staff.

 

Patients will come directly into the Community Cancer Center for their care. Processes are designed to maximize comfort and safety of patients and their families.

 

As of Thursday, October 1, 2009, the Community Cancer Center can be reached by telephone at (660) 831-3760. Normal hours of operation will be from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
