PROGRESS: FOR A HEALTHY TOMORROW

Fitzgibbon Hospital has experienced considerable growth over the last 15 years.

As a result of this growth, space limitations have placed constraints on our ability to maintain and/or add services for our patients.

Fitzgibbon Hospital will be solving these problems in the near future and will be breaking ground on a new expansion, which will address these immediate needs.

The major areas of focus for improvement are:

                          Ambulatory Surgery

                          GI Lab

                          Radiology Services

(including MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine, & Women’s

                          Imaging for Mammography & Ultrasound)

                          Obstetrics

                          Respiratory Care

                          Outpatient Clinic space

A $14 Million Project:

Progress for a

Healthy Tomorrow

The Community Cancer Center will be a new service, which has been requested by our community for some time.  Fitzgibbon Hospital wants to partner with the community to develop a Community Cancer Center to service all patients who are cancer victims.  The Center plans to provide both Radiation Therapy (Linear Accelerator) and Chemotherapy Treatments.

As a not-for-profit Community hospital, Fitzgibbon’s only sources of revenue come from the services it provides to the patients it serves and through donations from the community.

Fitzgibbon Hospital’s expansion project will cost around $10 million and the Community Cancer Center’s cost is projected to be $4 million.  The Hospital’s expansion project is being financed through $10 million tax-exempt revenue bonds.  A Capital Campaign is being conducted to provide funds for the construction of the new Community Cancer Center.

Therefore, your community Hospital is working on two projects with a total cost of $14 million to improve and add new services for the community.  The Hospital will be providing $10 million, and is asking the community to help in providing the additional $4 million.

When the expansion project is complete, all of the services needed to support and enhance cancer treatment within the new Cancer Center will be just steps away.
