    MOVING FORWARD

   Over the past year, we’ve seen some major changes on the Fitzgibbon Hospital campus.

   The addition of a new “wing” adjacent to The Living Center is probably the most noticeable. The top floor of the facility includes a new nine-bed Skilled Nursing Unit and a modern Rehab unit featuring physical, occupational and speech therapy as well as a state-of-the-art Aquatic Therapy pool.

   The lower level of the new facility was turned into office space, allowing us to move our Patient Accounts Department back to campus. The suite also includes the Accounting and Managed Care departments.

   Late in 2005, we also were able to move the Community Services Department back onto the South Highway 65 campus. Community Services encompasses the Home Health, Homemakers & More, Mary Montgomery Hospice, and Transportation units of Fitzgibbon Hospital.

New nine-bed Skilled Nursing Unit (above and at right) and a new Rehab facility which features an Aquatic Therapy pool (below)  were among the additions on the Fitzgibbon Hospital campus during Fiscal Year 2006.
