                    COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

   In 2006, Fitzgibbon Hospital employees reached out into the community through various events, including (left to right above) the annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life, the Fitzgibbon Hospital Community Health Fair, and the Annual Lighthouse Shelter Car Show.

   In addition, hospital staff conducted health fairs in local elementary schools and businesses throughout the community and spoke to 386 kindergarten students in area schools about bicycle safety, providing each one with a bicycle helmet.

   Our staff also participated in the annual Ladies Night Out event, co-sponsored by Boone Hospital Center and the Salt Fork YMCA; sponsored Grief and COPD Support Group for area citizens; and provided diabetes training through special focus events.
